N\u00e3o s\u00e3o originado pela fiss\u00e3o de n\u00facleo at\u00f4micos inst\u00e1veis, isto seria\u00a0 radia\u00e7\u00e3o gama (tal como as usinas nucleares). Sendo onda eletromagn\u00e9tica, se propaga na velocidade da luz e n\u00e3o se &#8220;acumula&#8221; no ambiente e perde sua intensidade com a dist\u00e2ncia. Ou seja, como a luz vis\u00edvel, ao &#8220;desligar&#8221; o bot\u00e3o, a luz se apaga.
