Tal descoberta, permitiu avan\u00e7os tanto na \u00e1rea da medicina como na<br \/>odontologia, possibilitando novas t\u00e9cnicas, bem como melhor conhecimento das<br \/>estruturas anat\u00f4micas, contribuindo para o surgimento e amplia\u00e7\u00e3o de novas<br \/>\u00e1reas dentro da odontologia.<\/p><p>\u00a0\u00a0 A primeira radiografia foi realizada no dia 8 de novembro de<br \/>1865, no qual R\u00f6ntgen p\u00f4s a m\u00e3o esquerda de sua esposa no chassi, com filme<br \/>fotogr\u00e1fico, fazendo incidir a radia\u00e7\u00e3o de um tubo por um per\u00edodo de 15<br \/>minutos. Ao revelar o filme, observou-se a m\u00e3o da esposa e seus ossos dentro<br \/>das partes moles menos densa (imagem 1).<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Primeira radiografia da hist\u00f3ria \u2013 m\u00e3o de Anna Bertha<\/p><p>\u00a0Aproximadamente 20 dias ap\u00f3s a comunica\u00e7\u00e3o de<br \/>R\u00f6ntgen, o professor Dr Giesel, Alemanha, tentou fazer uma radiografia dos<br \/>dentes do dentista Dr\u00ba Otto Walkhoff. Tal feito foi conseguida usando uma placa<br \/>de vidro com emuls\u00e3o fotogr\u00e1fica, envolvida em papel preto e len\u00e7o de borracha.<br \/>O tempo de exposi\u00e7\u00e3o foi de 25 min (imagem 2) Por\u00e9m, foi atribu\u00eddo ao Dr\u00ba<br \/>Edmund Kells, como percussor desta \u201cnova tecnologia\u201d como elemento<br \/>indispens\u00e1vel na pr\u00e1tica cl\u00ednica odontol\u00f3gica, j\u00e1 que desenvolveu metodologia nos<br \/>\u00e2ngulos e posicionadores para o filme radiogr\u00e1fico.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Imagem<br \/>2 \u2013 Imagens dos molares do Dr\u00ba Otto Walkhoff.<\/p><p>No<br \/>Brasil, o primeiro aparelho de raios- x instalado, foi pelo Dr\u00ba Jos\u00e9 Carlos<br \/>Ferreiras Pires, em 1897. O primeiro professor de radiologia odontol\u00f3gica foi o<br \/>Dr\u00ba Ciro Silva, da Faculdade de Odontologia da Universidade de S\u00e3o Paulo<\/p><p><!-- [if !mso]><\/p>\n<style>\nv\\:*
