les\u00f5es fibro-\u00f3sseas, refere-se a um processo distinto em que a arquitetura \u00f3ssea normal \u00e9 substitu\u00edda por fibroblastos e fibras de col\u00e1genas contendo quantidade vi\u00e1veis de material mineralizado. O termo n\u00e3o indica um diagn\u00f3stico espec\u00edfico, apenas, representa um grupo extenso de v\u00e1rias entidades. Uma classifica\u00e7\u00e3o, considerada satisfat\u00f3ria e geralmente aceito que as les\u00f5es fibro-\u00f3sseas benignas da regi\u00e3o bucomaxilofacial possam ser divididas em tr\u00eas categorias, incluindo:<\/p><p>\u2022 Displasia Cemento \u00d3ssea Periapical (DCOP) &#8211; tem origem no ligamento periodontal, envolve predominantemente a regi\u00e3o periapical da mand\u00edbula anterior);<\/p><p>\u2022 Displasia Cemento \u00d3ssea Florida (DOF) &#8211; tem origem no ligamento periodontal e aparece com envolvimento multifocal);<\/p><p>\u2022 Displasia Cemento \u00d3ssea Focal &#8211; ocorre em qualquer \u00e1rea dos ossos gn\u00e1ticos, mas a mand\u00edbula posterior \u00e9 o s\u00edtio predominante;<\/p><p>\u2022 Displasia Fibrosa &#8211; que costuma acometer grandes por\u00e7\u00f5es do osso medular e cortical, em um ou mais \u00f3sseos do cr\u00e2nio;<\/p><p>\u2022 Fibroma Ossificante &#8211; neoplasia verdadeira.<\/p><p>Na postagem de hoje vamos focar na <b>Displasia Cemento \u00d3ssea Focal<\/b>. Aproximadamente 90% dos casos da displasia cemento-\u00f3ssea focal tem idade m\u00e9dia de 38 anos e uma predile\u00e7\u00e3o pela terceira \u00e0 sexta d\u00e9cada de vida. Em contraste com as variantes periapical e florida, tem sido relatada uma alta porcentagem em brancos. A doen\u00e7a \u00e9 tipicamente assintom\u00e1tica e \u00e9 detectada apenas no exame radiogr\u00e1fico. Radiograficamente, a les\u00e3o varia de completamente radiol\u00facida (hipodenso) \u00e0 densamente radiopaca (hipedenso) com estreito halo radiol\u00facido (hipodenso) na periferia. Entretanto, mas comumente h\u00e1 um misto do padr\u00e3o radiol\u00facido (hipodenso) e radiopaco (hiperdenso) A les\u00e3o tende ser bem definida, mas a margens s\u00e3o levemente irregulares. As les\u00f5es ocorrem em \u00e1reas dentadas e ed\u00eantulas. N\u00e3o \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio nenhum tratamento para esta condi\u00e7\u00e3o, mas uma vez firmado o diagn\u00f3stico cl\u00ednico, \u00e9 realizado somente o acompanhamento peri\u00f3dico com refor\u00e7o da higiene oral para controle da doen\u00e7a periodontal e poss\u00edvel perda dent\u00e1ria. Caso o componente inflamat\u00f3rio esteja presente o processo \u00e9 basicamente uma osteomielite cr\u00f4nica. Sequestra\u00e7\u00e3o de massas de material tipo cemento escler\u00f3tico pode lentamente ocorrer seguida de cicatriza\u00e7\u00e3o.
